Artist's Comments

My first drawing with colored pencils. I know the picture isn't the best, hopefully I can take another one without such an obvious flash. To compensate, I've included 6 details.

Very good, its colorful
Wow. I don't think I've ever seen anything on DA that's quite so involved. You've got quite a lot of detail and it's crazy and psychadelic. Cool.

wow...just incredible..the amount of detail and work that you put into this..it looks so amazing!! do you do this in pencil first or do you just go at it?

great work. the colored pencils worked well. the colors are much improved from previous work. whats the size? you really shoud try painting with oil or acrylic (acrylic might work better for you) also think more about the whole composition. just as an example: using "sacred geometry" to form the composition or make your image in a structure like a tibetan mandala or just having some overall figurative form with all this crazyness imbeded in it. How ever you proceed i think you really need to find a way to give your images spacial depth so the viewer can visually enter them. right now everything in on the surface.

I think it's something like 22 x 30, and yes, creating more depth is one of my biggest challenges. I plan on working with UV paint for a little while now, and incorporating more symmetry - albeit a twisted, fungal symmetry. Thanks for the insight!
thank you... i pencil out little chunks of it at a time, and then color them in... there's really no order to it... it spreads unpredictably over the paper like mushroom mycelium colonizing a cow pie.
thank you very much... i think it's about 22 x 30.
